That Time

Today is the fifth day of the fasting month and it has been a long time since I have written anything in my blog. A lot of things has happened since then. First, it was Nur Fathiyah Syarha who came into our lives and made me a first-time grandfather, a proud and happy grandfather. She was born the day after I have sent my daughter, Nabihah to Wisma Belia, KL for the YPM Japanese program. She did well in her SPM where she scored 10As.
Ummu, my daughter-in-law was admitted to the Sultan Ismail hospital in Pandan, JB the night before. The family came back as fast as we could and went straight to the hospital arriving at about 6.00 pm but Ummu had gone into labour. After waiting until 7.30pm, still nothing so we decided to go home to BT. Boy! are we all tired from a long day. At 11.00 pm, Ikram called to say that Ummu has given birth to a baby girl, my beautiful granddaughter! The whole family was elated and couldn't bring ourselves to sleep again. It was the first time since a very long time I saw the excitement in the whole family. The phone was ringing constantly to relay the good news.

It was about two months later, our granddaughter, Syarha, was admitted to the ICU of the Sultan Ismail hospital because of a viral infection (?). It was at 11 pm when Ikram called to say he was worried because Syarha's stools was black in colour. I suggested that Syarha be taken to the hospital for a checkup. Ikram went to a clinic in Pasir Gudang but Syarha was diagnosed for dengue. She was referred to the Sultan Ismail hospital when her blood count was very low. She was immediately admitted to the ICU. She was in a critical condition for almost about a week. We travelled everyday to the hospital. Alhamdullillah, she got through and got better.

Now she is almost 5 1/2 months healthy and very lively and I missed her everyday.

Next, came Satriani, our second granddaughter, who was born about a month ago in Freiburg, Germany. My regrets was, I cannot go to see her in person as Freiburg is too far away but I was given updates by AHadi, my son, through calls, smses and pictures and video clips. She contracted jaundice during birth but now she is OK. She is a lively and quite loud little bundle of joy. I hoped and wished I could hold her in my arms.

Now, I am waiting for my third grandchild due to be born in early October to Diqi and Nurul in Batu Gajah, Perak.

2009 is a productive year for our family with the addition of new members.
